Our mission
Community & Youth Development of DuPage County (CYD) is an Illinois not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, run by volunteers since 1973.
The mission of CYD is to provide charitable, cultural, educational and mentoring programs that promote and encourage the physical, social and emotional development of disadvantaged children and youth, without regard to race, creed, color or national origin.
CYD accomplishes this by:
- Honoring the CYD legacy of community service
- Collaborating with partner agencies and organizations to make the most of opportunities and resources
- Engaging disadvantaged families and children through a variety of youth-oriented programs
- Building lasting relationships with disadvantaged families and children
- Creating value for our partner agencies, organizations, board members and the community
